LLA is an SFUSD public charter high school founded in 1998 by the Delancey Street Foundation dedicated to supporting San Francisco's most disconnected youth. For over 20 years LLA has welcomed students into an 'extended family' that motivates everyone to give and receive support, develop responsibility and judgment, and build the academic, vocational and social skills necessary to be successful.

Despite LLA's tremendous success, we have noticed an increasing number of students living in unstable conditions (in cars, doubled up with other families, moving from couch to couch on a monthly, weekly, (or even daily basis) that we must address. To respond to the growing housing crisis among these students, LLA launched LLABUILD, a first-of-its-kind initiative to create safe and stable housing for disconnected teens in San Francisco. Due to the tremendous leadership and support from longstanding LLA stakeholders including Jack Scott, we have paved the way for the development of a 20-bed dormitory on Treasure Island. LLA has successfully raised $2.1M towards its $3.5M capital campaign goal and will officially break ground in February 2018.

We invite you to honor Jack Scott's milestone 80th birthday by supporting the LLABUILD initiative, allowing us to cross the finish line and build safe and stable housing for San Francisco's most disconnected youth.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
